Hello dear friends! I hope everyone is enjoying the month of September so far. Can you believe that in less than a week, it will officially be fall? Even though the days are still quite warm, I have been enjoying the slightly cooler mornings over here in the Pacific Southwest! This week I had the pleasure of receiving a little goodie in the mail, that I have been patiently waiting for. Last Monday, I received my copy of Vintage Chic by Christina Strutt!
I have been huge fan of Christina Strutt and Cabbages & Roses, so I was really looking forward to ordering my copy once it was in stock! So I took my lovely little book outside with me, and started thumbing through each inspirational page. Here are just a few of the many pages that I thoroughly enjoyed.
And while I was in my cozy little backyard enjoying the crisp evening weather, I decided to take a few photos of a few dark-hued roses that I put inside an old vintage milk bottle.
XO's,
Jessie

That sounds like a lovely afternoon to me. Isn't that book amazing...makes me want to start all over again with my house and yard! Your roses are beautiful - mine are a little wilty from the chilly spell we've been having. But the mums are blooming!
Have a great weekend!

Wow, I would have loved to have that little cozy spot to sit and to smell the roses! Your roses are so beautiful!! There is nothing like fresh flowers to feed the soul. There's a quote that I love that says:
"Food nourishes the body, but flowers nourish the soul" I don't remember who said it but I completely agree with them.
Have a wonderful weekend Jessie.
Sincerely,
Melinda
I'm not so familiar with Cabbages and Roses. Must look them up. Thanks for sharing your lovely post.

I've never looked at the Vintage Chic magazine. I'll have to buy one the next time I come across it. Oh, and those roses!!! That made my day. How I love roses, and you really captured the beauty of them in these photos. What a wonderful post.

What a great way to spend the day. That book looks wonderful. Your roses are so pretty too. All my flowers are looking rather sad. Pretty soon I'll have to start my trips to the florist again :)
You sound like you had a very happy time there in your garden. I love your beautiful roses too, is there any better fragrance in the world?
