Simple Faded Roses
I really love bringing fresh blooms into my home. But unfortunately, because of the move, renovations, and the temporary clutter, I really didn't get a chance to {literally} stop & smell the roses this summer.
But when I went to the market & saw these creamy, faded spray roses, I could not help but take them home with me.
I love using various vintage pieces around my home to house my blooms. In this case, I used an old coffee pot as a vase for my simple bouquet of market roses.
I currently do NOT have any major furniture in the house yet {aside from my old Ikea Couch, which by the way is in dire need of a new slip cover}. Because we are still in the middle of fixing things up here, I always have to come up with very creative ways to take photos for this blog. So I hope you pardon my dust, and bear with me here on my posts. ;)
I opted out of a true vignette and decided to use the blooms & this charming coffee pot as a focal point here.
So I hope you don't mind the abundance of these simple photos.
So have you figured out what the "backdrop" for these photos are yet?
Well...I used my son's small, white drawing table to place my pot with roses on them.
This table actually has crayon marks all over it, so instead of using a regular table runner which would have been way too long for this 2 ft by 2 ft table, I used one of my many vintage linen pillow cases as a "runner!"
One side is printed, the other is plain, so I used either side for this particular photo-op. ;)
So now you know the "secret" behind this little photo session! I do hope you enjoyed it. ;) I also hope everyone is having a fabulous week so far.
XOXO's,
Jessie

Beautiful roses and love the container you have placed them in! Found you at Very Merry Vintage.

Your roses are gorgeous, Jessie! I know how frustrating it can be to find a good backdrop. Usually it's after I take a few pictures that I see the unwanted things in the background. That's when close ups are good!
Love the old coffee pot, too! :-)
XO,
Janie
Beautiful white roses, and they came right after my anniversary yesterday - 31 years. I'm glad I stopped by.

The roses are lovely, but I'm an even bigger fan of the enamelware coffee pot that holds them!
I'm your newest follower.
Very pretty. I love the combination of the roses with the coffee pot. Very charming.
I sympathize with you, taking pictures is difficult...odd things always seem to pop in where you don't want them.(-: These are very nice. Have a great day!
Oh...I am in SoCal too.
Hi, your white roses are lovely. I also did a post on roses. The white ones are my absolute favorite.

Simple beauty is often the most pleasing - as is true with your vignette! We women have to have beauty somewhere in our lives don't we? Even if it is a bit contrived.
By the way, we ALL stage pics for our blogs. Sometimes it's the only way to get a post done! ;)
